Apply for up to $9000 in funding!
The Government of Alberta has provided funds for a bursary program to help people become Health Care Aides. This program provides up to $9,000 in financial support. You can apply if:
- You are a student or graduate from any school that offers the Alberta-licensed Health Care Aide program.
- Your program must have started on or after July 1, 2022.

How the tuition bursary works
1. Apply online
Submit your application and required documents through our bursary application portal. The process happens in three stages over the course of your studies.

2. Receive your funds
Funds are not provided immediately upon bursary approval. They’re provided in two installments after you meet specific criteria and submit the required documents correctly. See the funding overview
3. Fulfill your Return of Service Agreement
By accepting the bursary, you're committing to work as a Health Care Aide in Alberta after graduation and submit proof of employment at an approved continuing care operator.
The following bursary programs are now closed
- Financial Incentive Program (FIP)
- Workplace Bursary Program (TBP Workplace)
- Workplace Tutor Program (Employers Only)

The Health Care Aide Tuition Bursary is funded by Alberta’s Ministry of Seniors, Community and Social Services and administered by NorQuest College.
NorQuest College:
- Manages the online bursary application portal
- Reviews and approves applications
- Sends bursary funds to eligible applicants
